From President David,
The February Fun Fly and Swap Meet was a great success. 34 Pilots registered and around 25 sellers had a successful swap meet. Total attendance, including spectators and club members was estimated to be around 250. The event had a positive impact on the club cash flow, and we gained a few new members. Many of our pilots were nationally known and flew a variety of styles from WW1 to 3D, from Scale to FanJets. We had pilots from several local clubs, plus others from Orlando, Ocala, Gainesville, Palm Coast, The Villages and Boynton Beach.
This event would not have happened without the leadership of Mike Setteducati and Bill Scaramellino. They took the initiative and followed through to make this happen. Club members and Mike’s team worked hard on the day of the event but particularly our chef, Byrd Wenman, who along with Judy, Kay and Don cooked at least 120 meals! Thank you!
If you see them around, take time out to thank them, not only for the success of this event, but for stepping up and reminding us how we can all contribute to the growth and success of our club.
